Job Title: Radiation Protection / Radiation Physics Engineer Role Summary: Technical expert responsible for defining radiation zones, performing shielding calculations, and ensuring compliance with Canadian (CNSC) and international radiation protection regulations for multidisciplinary engineering projects. Expactations: Deliver engineering inputs on radiation protection, prepare regulatory submissions, develop ALARA and waste management strategies, and support licensing, decommissioning, and monitoring activities without field technician duties. Key Responsibilities: - Define and establish radiation zoning for projects. - Conduct shielding calculations and dose assessments. - Provide technical input to civil, mechanical, electrical, and other engineering teams. - Ensure compliance with CNSC guidelines and export safety standards (IAEA, IAEA safety guides). - Develop, review, and update radiation protection plans, ALARA strategies, and waste handling protocols. - Assist in licensing applications and regulatory submissions. - Support decommissioning and waste management planning, including characterization and remediation. - Collaborate with clients, project teams, and regulators to ensure safe project execution.
