Job Title: AWS DevOps Engineer (6‑month contract, outside IR35) Role Summary: Develop and maintain robust, scalable AWS infrastructure using IaC tools, enforce DevOps practices across the team, secure the cloud environment, implement observability, optimize costs, and maintain critical EC2 services. Expectations: - Deliver refined Terraform and CI/CD pipelines. - Champion IaC culture and enforce tooling. - Strengthen security posture across AWS resources. - Introduce and manage application‑level observability solutions. - Reduce AWS spend through cost‑optimization initiatives. - Ensure reliable operation of EC2 instances. Key Responsibilities: 1. Refine existing Terraform modules and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure provisioning. 2. Support developers with IaC implementation and best‑practice guidance. 3. Enforce IaC usage across projects via tooling and policy. 4. Review and enhance security controls, IAM, and network policies. 5. Implement CloudWatch and Datadog for logging, metrics, and alerts. 6. Analyze and reduce AWS cost drivers, recommend right‑sizing and reserved instances. 7. Maintain and troubleshoot a small fleet of EC2 instances. 8. Collaborate on serverless architecture (AWS Lambda, Zappa) and related services.
