Job Description
Job Title: Senior Embedded Software Engineer Role Summary: Lead the design, development, verification, and certification of Battery Management System (BMS) software for an electric vertical take‑off and landing aircraft, ensuring compliance with aerospace safety and functional safety standards. Expectations: Deliver high‑integrity embedded software within project schedules, maintain rigorous documentation and traceability, and actively contribute to continuous improvement of software processes and standards. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and validate low‑level software functions and drivers for embedded platforms (Texas Instruments TMS, ARM). - Develop and execute unit and integration tests for safety‑critical components. - Produce high‑ and low‑level specifications, requirements traceability, and documentation for certification. - Conduct hands‑on hardware interface testing, debugging, and validation. - Review implementations, documentation, and design for compliance with DO‑178C, DO‑254, ARP 4754/4761, IEC 61508 SIL‑3, and related standards. - Collaborate with hardware engineers and multidisciplinary teams for aircraft‑level integration and validation. - Participate in technical design reviews, software planning, and agile/scrum processes (Jira, Bitbucket). - Contribute to process improvement initiatives and internal software standards. Required Skills: - Embedded C programming (≥7 years) for safety‑critical systems. - Experience with Texas Instruments TMS and ARM microcontrollers; bare‑metal OS development. - Development of CAN, Ethernet, SPI, I²C communication systems and low‑level driver design. - Deep knowledge of MISRA C standards and compliance processes. - Functional safety expertise (DO‑178/254, ARP 4754/4761, IEC 61508 SIL‑3). - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, Jira, Bitbucket, and requirements management tools. - Strong written and verbal communication in English. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Systems, Computer Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience). - Demonstrated experience in aerospace certification programs.
