**Job title**
Lead Data Architect
**Role Summary**
Lead the end‑to‑end design, integration, and governance of enterprise data solutions. Drive digital transformation by defining a comprehensive data vision, architecture, and roadmap that aligns with business strategy and technology standards.
**Expectations**
- Own data strategy and architecture for an entire organization or multi‑client portfolio.
- Translate high‑level business objectives into scalable, secure data solutions.
- Influence and collaborate with executive stakeholders, development teams, and data stewards to achieve a unified data approach.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. **Data Architecture Design** – Build enterprise architecture frameworks (data models, pipelines, integration patterns).
2. **Technology Selection & Roadmapping** – Evaluate, recommend, and roadmap data platforms (cloud, on‑prem, hybrid).
3. **Governance & Standards** – Establish data quality, security, compliance, and metadata management policies.
4. **Mentorship & Leadership** – Coach data architects, analysts, and developers; lead workshops and knowledge transfer.
5. **Stakeholder Collaboration** – Partner with business, product, and IT leaders to capture requirements and align implementations.
6. **Performance & Optimization** – Monitor data pipeline performance, scalability, and cost efficiency; propose improvements.
7. **Innovation & Thought Leadership** – Stay current on emerging data technologies and best practices; adapt solutions accordingly.
**Required Skills**
- Enterprise data architecture & data modeling (ERM, dimensional, graph, NoSQL).
- Data integration & ETL/ELT (Apache NiFi, Informatica, Talend, dbt).
- Big data & real‑time platforms (Spark, Flink, Kafka, Kinesis).
- Cloud data services (AWS Glue, Redshift, Athena, Azure Synapse, Snowflake).
- SQL & schema design; proficiency in at least one major relational engine.
- Data governance, cataloging, lineage, and security frameworks (GDPR, CCPA).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Leadership experience guiding cross‑functional teams.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s (or Master’s) degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as TOGAF 9, CDMP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty, or equivalent.
