About the Company

Job Title
Stage BAC+5 - Comportement des sols renforcés H/F
Job Description
**Job Title:** Intern (MSc) – Behavior of Reinforced Soils (H/F) **Role Summary:** Conduct research and finite‑element modeling to assess the dynamic response of reinforced soils (rigid inclusions) under seismic loading, including soil‑structure interaction for massive foundations. Deliver a technical report summarizing findings. **Expectations:** - Apply advanced soil mechanics and wave propagation concepts to model seismic scenarios. - Perform sensitivity analyses on seismic input parameters and reinforcement configurations. - Produce clear, data‑driven documentation of methods and results. - Collaborate with the SES/LMAPS team at ASNR and follow project timelines. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Conduct a literature review on FEM modeling of reinforced soils (static & dynamic). 2. Build and validate 2D/3D FEM models of soil layers without reinforcement. 3. Extend models to include rigid inclusions and assess wave propagation effects. 4. Incorporate a massive foundation into models and evaluate kinematic soil‑structure interaction. 5. Execute sensitivity studies on seismic motion definitions (frequency content, amplitude, etc.). 6. Analyze acceleration fields, strain distribution, damping, and amplification factors. 7. Compile results and recommendations into a synthesis report. **Required Skills:** - Strong foundation in civil engineering, geotechnical/soil mechanics, and wave mechanics. - Proficiency with FEM tools (e.g., Cast3M, Code_Aster or equivalent). - Competent in Python for data processing and result visualization. - Advanced written and spoken French and English. - Analytical mindset and ability to work independently within a research team. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Master’s level (Bac+5) degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field. - No specific professional certifications required.
