Job Description

Job title: Financial Analyst Role Summary: Provide financial analysis and reporting for a retail e‑commerce and stores business, translating sales, margin, stock and promo data into actionable insights for the Trading & Marketing teams. Produce month‑end management accounts, ROI analyses, forecasts and budgets, while acting as a business partner to marketing. Expectations: • Deliver accurate monthly management accounts for marketing, including journal posting, balance‑sheet reconciliation and variance analysis. • Produce bi‑weekly ROI reports detailing marketing spend returns (new customers, first‑order margin, customer lifetime value, payback period). • Compile quarterly marketing cost forecasts and annual budgets, explaining variances. • Conduct ad‑hoc analyses, such as promotion effectiveness reviews. • Build and maintain relationships across marketing to ensure timely, relevant financial insights. Key Responsibilities: • Month‑end accounting and management reporting for marketing. • Journal entries, GL reconciliations, and variance analyses. • Bi‑weekly ROI dashboards for marketing spend. • Quarterly forecast and annual budget preparation. • Ad‑hoc data analysis of marketing activities. • Liaise with marketing, trading and finance teams as a trusted partner. Required Skills: • Strong grasp of accounting processes and month‑end management. • General ledger proficiency and experience with accounting systems. • Excellent analytical and numeracy skills. • Ability to communicate complex financial information in plain business terms. • Detail‑oriented with strong organisational and time‑management capabilities. • Intermediate to advanced Excel, including data modelling and pivot tables. • Comfortable learning and using various operational and data retrieval systems. • Self‑motivated, collaborative, and effective in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment. Required Education & Certifications: • Part‑qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent). • Demonstrated strong academic achievement.
