Job Description
**Job Title**: Data Science Intern (Master's) **Role Summary**: Support client engagements by applying advanced data science techniques, developing analytical tools, and contributing to research initiatives across diverse industries. **Expectations**: Deliver high‑quality insights, prototype models, and documentation while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and staying current with emerging data science methodologies. **Key Responsibilities**: - Collaborate with project teams to resolve data science and computing challenges. - Identify and recommend technology opportunities to enhance service offerings. - Participate in client engagements and research activities. - Maintain and expand the in‑house knowledge base, focusing on Linux environments. - Conduct advanced statistical and mathematical analyses for complex research questions. - Build data engineering pipelines and machine‑learning production systems. - Apply NLP to EMR, social media, and other unstructured datasets. - Optimize database access and management for large volumes (e.g., claims, EHR, transactions). - Develop interactive analytics portals and visualizations (R/Shiny, Python/Flask, D3). - Leverage grid/cloud computing and develop software packages in R, Python, and other object‑oriented languages. - Create optimized procedures for repetitive or computationally intensive tasks (C, C++, CUDA‑C). **Required Skills**: - Strong statistical and mathematical problem‑solving abilities. - Proficient in Python and/or R with project experience in either. - Experience with structured and unstructured data, including data visualization. - Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and high‑performance computing environments. - Comfortable working in Linux and with Docker. - Bonus: Web development experience (FastAPI, Flask, Node, Vue.js, React.js). - Excellent teamwork, communication (written and oral), and rapid learning of new methods. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Current pursuit of a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. - STEM‑eligible degree for U.S. visa sponsorship (if applicable).
