**Job Title**
Software Asset Analyst
**Role Summary**
Manage the end‑to‑end lifecycle of the organization’s software estate, ensuring accurate inventory, compliance with licensing terms, and cost optimisation. Drive policy development, vendor negotiation, and cross‑functional collaboration to maximise software value and total cost of ownership.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 2 years in a similar software asset or IT asset management role.
- Proven ability to analyse complex data, identify optimisation opportunities, and deliver actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and teamwork abilities; capable of guiding, motivating, and resolving conflicts.
- Self‑directed, highly organised with the capacity to prioritise multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Oversee the full lifecycle of software assets: request, procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
2. Maintain an up‑to‑date inventory of all licensed software, including versions, usage, and entitlement data.
3. Monitor and enforce compliance with licensing agreements; conduct regular audits and remediate discrepancies.
4. Analyse usage patterns and license data to uncover savings opportunities; negotiate terms with Tier 1 vendors where applicable.
5. Develop, implement, and continually improve software asset management policies, procedures, and best practices.
6. Collaborate with IT, finance, legal, and business units to align asset management with organisational goals.
7. Prepare and present reports on compliance, utilisation, cost, and optimisation impact to stakeholders.
8. Support the request and approval process for new software deployments, ensuring alignment with governance standards.
**Required Skills**

- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to build rapport across departments.
- Experience with software licensing and asset management concepts.
- Negotiation and vendor‑management experience (Tier 1 vendor familiarity a plus).
- Decision‑making, delegation, and conflict‑resolution capabilities.
- Proficiency with asset management tools and Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with SAP/ERP systems is advantageous.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), ITIL, or similar are desirable but not mandatory.
