Staff Software Engineer – Task Platform
**Role Summary**
Architect, develop, and scale backend systems that drive labor planning, vehicle positioning, and task routing across a global micromobility fleet. Lead technical strategy, ensure engineering excellence, and mentor a growing engineering team.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 6 years of professional software development with demonstrable high‑impact projects.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration with product managers, operations, and leadership.
- Experience in technical leadership, mentorship, and shaping engineering culture.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead end‑to‑end project delivery with product, operations, and engineering teams.
- Own technical direction, set and enforce engineering standards, and make decisive architecture choices.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, high‑availability backend services (microservices, APIs).
- Conduct full‑cycle incident response: mitigation, root‑cause analysis, and prevention.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and facilitate professional growth.
- Interview candidates and contribute to talent acquisition.
- Advise executive leadership on technology adoption, process improvements, and operational tooling.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, quality, and high performance.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in backend languages: Ruby on Rails and/or Golang.
- Expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API design.
- Strong performance tuning, scalability, and reliability expertise.
- Experience with routing, labor planning, ticketing, and task prioritization tooling.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus but not required.
