Job title: Software Asset Manager
Role Summary: Oversee the governance, optimization, and compliance of software assets within a complex, multinational environment. Manage licensing, inventory, auditing, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective, compliant use of software across on‑premises, SaaS, and cloud platforms.
Expectations:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Software Asset Management.
- Proven track record managing license compliance, audits, and cost optimization.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English; additional languages advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement a comprehensive Software Asset Management (SAM) strategy.
- Maintain and monitor all software licenses (on‑prem, SaaS, cloud) and associated contracts.
- Conduct audit preparation, coordination, and remediation to ensure vendor compliance.
- Establish and enforce processes for inventorying, controlling, and reporting software assets.
- Analyze usage data to rationalize license holdings and negotiate fee reductions.
- Serve as primary liaison with key vendors (Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Adobe, IBM, etc.).
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with IT, Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams on IT transformation and cloud migration initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to international regulatory and contractual requirements and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Required Skills:
- In‑depth knowledge of major licensing models (Microsoft Volume Licensing, Oracle, SAP, IBM, etc.).
- Experience with vendor audit processes and remediation.
- Strong data analysis, reporting, and decision‑making capabilities.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously in a matrixed, global organization.
- High level of organizational rigor and confidentiality.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Procurement, Finance, or related field.
- Additional SAM‑related certification (e.g., Microsoft SAM, SAP, or similar) is a plus.
