Job Description
Job title: Railway Engineer (M/F) Role Summary: Oversees the technical compliance and delivery of national railway infrastructure projects, including track, overhead line, signalling, and civil engineering works. Acts as the primary liaison with contractors, ensures safety, hygiene, and environmental standards, prepares site organisation documents, and manages their execution until project hand‑over. Expactations: - Hold a senior engineering qualification or equivalent. - Demonstrated experience in railway or large infrastructure projects. - Strong written communication and reporting skills. - Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder‑management abilities. - Autonomous work style with proactive initiative. - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Key Responsibilities: - Monitor and enforce technical specifications throughout project life cycle. - Coordinate contract administration and act as contractor’s main contact. - Maintain compliance with safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations. - Draft and implement site organisation plans and schedules. - Track and report on technical and environmental audits and inspections. - Deliver project status reports to senior stakeholders. Required Skills: - Project management (planning, scheduling, resource coordination). - Technical knowledge of railway track, catenary, signalling, and civil works. - Risk assessment and mitigation in infrastructure projects. - Negotiation and contractor management. - Documentation: drafting technical reports, drawings, and site plans. - Proficiency with project management and reporting software. - Effective communication in English (written and spoken). Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Railway Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. - Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are an advantage. - Any additional railway‑specific training or certifications (e.g., railway safety, construction regulation) are preferred.
