Job Description

**Job Title:** Data Analyst – Plasma **Role Summary:** Provide advanced analytical, reporting and governance support to the NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) plasma and blood supply supply chain. Drive data‑driven insights to inform business planning, performance improvement, and stakeholder decision‑making. **Expectations:** - Deliver accurate, timely, and actionable analyses across project, programme, and portfolio levels. - Act as the primary data owner and gatekeeper for the team’s information hub. - Communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences through written reports and interactive dashboards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Collect, clean, and integrate raw data from NHSBT and partner organisations. - Develop and maintain interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, SQL, and related tools. - Design and implement statistical models and data visualisations to support business strategy. - Respond to stakeholder queries, create bespoke reports and deliver presentations. - Own the data lifecycle, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with governance standards. - Collaborate with IT, data engineering and analytics teams to enhance reporting capabilities. - Occasionally travel to support on‑site projects and stakeholder engagements. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in analytical and statistical software: Power BI, R, SAS, SPSS, S+, Microsoft Access, Excel. - Strong programming skills in SQL, T‑SQL, PL/SQL, and experience with SQL Server or similar databases. - Advanced data visualisation and dashboard development experience. - Excellent communication skills – verbal and written – for multi‑audience reporting. - Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science or related field. - Post‑graduate diploma (or equivalent experience) in a statistical or numerate discipline. ---
