Job Description
**Job Title** Sales Executive – Freight Logistics (Air, Sea, Road & Warehousing) **Role Summary** Field‑based sales professional responsible for prospecting, winning and growing freight logistics business across a designated UK region (Midlands or London). Drives new‑business acquisition, manages existing accounts, and delivers consultative solutions to meet customer needs while achieving revenue and profitability targets. **Expectations** - Achieve defined sales KPIs (new contacts, meetings, revenue, profitability). - Maintain accurate sales pipeline and activity reporting in Salesforce. - Deliver high‑quality proposals and costings that win business on service value, not price. - Resolve early‑stage operational or financial issues to ensure seamless service delivery. - Contribute to regional sales strategy and continuous improvement initiatives. **Key Responsibilities** - Prospect and qualify leads via cold‑calling, telemarketing, direct mail and client visits. - Build and expand a portfolio of accounts using existing networks and targeted outreach. - Conduct product presentations, demonstrations and consultative meetings with prospects and existing customers. - Develop and submit sales proposals, pricing schedules and contracts. - Collaborate with UK sales team to create and execute regional sales plans. - Serve as first point of contact for commercial inquiries, escalations and queries. - Submit weekly activity reports, budget forecasts and pipeline updates. - Identify service improvement opportunities and work with operations to create SOPs for new account onboarding. - Manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction, retention and upsell opportunities. **Required Skills** - Proven “hunter” experience in air, ocean and road freight sales. - Strong commercial acumen and ability to sell on service value. - Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing abilities. - Self‑motivated with strong initiative and proactive problem‑solving. - Ability to develop winning proposals and competitive costing. - Entrepreneurial mindset with adaptability to evolving sales processes. - Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office suite. **Required Education & Certifications** - Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). - Preferred: Industry certifications such as CILT, IATA Dangerous Goods, or other freight forwarding qualifications. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned region.
