Director, Cloud and DevOps Platforms
**Role Summary**
Lead the strategy, design, and delivery of an enterprise‑grade cloud and DevOps platform that serves the entire organization as a self‑service product. The role focuses on enabling rapid, secure, and cost‑efficient application delivery through automated infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and FinOps across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments.
**Expectations**
- Own the product vision and roadmap for the cloud and DevOps platform.
- Guide cross‑functional teams (engineers, product managers, architects) in an agile, culture of continuous improvement.
- Drive platform adoption, cost optimization, AI‑driven automation, and a DevOps community that fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. **Product Leadership**
- Define and execute platform product strategy and roadmap.
- Promote a platform‑as‑a‑product mindset across infrastructure and engineering units.
2. **Platform Development**
- Engineer scalable, secure, and resilient cloud‑native services.
- Build automated infrastructure foundations, self‑service catalogs, CI/CD pipelines, and container patterns.
- Integrate observability, security, and compliance into platform capabilities.
3. **AI & Automation**
- Leverage AI/ML to automate provisioning, CI/CD workflows, and operational tasks.
- Deliver predictive insights and proactive recommendations for reliability and cost.
4. **FinOps Leadership**
- Partner with finance and CIO functions to optimize cloud spending.
- Implement FinOps automation, reporting, and governance.
5. **Strategic Partnerships**
- Collaborate with digital product and enterprise software teams to align platform solutions with diverse technology stacks and priorities.
6. **Community & Culture**
- Establish a DevOps Council and marketplace of reusable patterns and services.
- Promote crowdsourcing, knowledge sharing, and training to build a strong DevOps culture.
7. **Agile Delivery**
- Run sprint‑based releases, demos, and iterative testing.
- Use stakeholder feedback to refine platform backlogs.
8. **Team Leadership**
- Mentor and grow a cross‑functional engineering team.
- Foster experimentation, innovation, and continuous improvement.
**Required Skills**
- Deep expertise in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP cloud platforms.
- Proven experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Pulumi).
- Strong product management acumen with a customer‑centric, platform mindset.
- Knowledge of security, compliance, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, SIEM).
- FinOps fundamentals and cloud cost optimization techniques.
- AI/ML acumen for operational automation.
- Leadership and people management experience (5+ years).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaborative skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering.
- 5+ years working with at least one hyper‑scaler (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- 5+ years of people leadership.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect are preferred but not mandatory.
