Job Description
Job Title: Communications & Marketing Manager Role Summary: Lead and execute all communication and marketing activities to build brand awareness and accelerate adoption of the Scenario Builder tool. Own the content calendar, social media, website, and creative production while collaborating cross‑functionally with data, product, and engagement teams. Expectations: * Highly proactive, self‑directed, and detail‑oriented. * Deep commitment to climate action and ability to translate complex data into compelling stories. * Strong ownership, accountability, and a feedback‑driven mindset. * Adaptable, curious, and willing to experiment in a fast‑paced environment. Key Responsibilities: * Create, edit, and publish explainer articles, blogs, newsletters, and thought‑leadership pieces. * Translate modelling outputs and research into accessible written content. * Produce visual assets—infographics, social carousels, short videos, multimedia explainers—using Canva and video editing tools. * Manage website CMS, optimise for SEO and accessibility, and schedule content across social channels. * Track communications analytics, report impact, and adjust strategy accordingly. * Draft press releases, support media outreach, and coordinate brand visibility initiatives. * Collaborate with market experts, modellers, product, and partner teams to develop product messaging and support webinars. * Ensure all content aligns with brand tone, editorial standards, and accessibility guidelines. Required Skills: * Proven ability to simplify complex concepts for a general audience. * Excellent writing, editing, and copy‑editing skills with an eye for structure and grammar. * Experience in technical, research‑driven, or mission‑oriented communications (e.g., climate, science, economics). * Strong technical communication skills—ability to work with subject‑matter experts and validate quantitative content. * Digital fluency: content creation across written, visual, and video formats; SEO basics; analytics tracking. * Design proficiency in Canva and short‑form video editing. * Project management: organise multiple workstreams, meet deadlines, and maintain a content calendar. Required Education & Certifications: * Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field. * Prior experience in content marketing or communications roles within a technical or mission‑driven organisation. * Certifications in digital marketing, content strategy, or data‑driven storytelling are a plus.
