Job Title: System Application Development & Sustainment Intern (Summer/Fall 2026)
Role Summary:
Full‑stack development intern responsible for designing, building, testing, and sustaining web‑based applications that support business processes. Provides post‑deployment troubleshooting, end‑user support, and system performance audits. Works cross‑functionally with application owners, API integration teams, and technical stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, sustainable solutions within tight deadlines.
Expectations:
- Deliver code that meets functional and quality standards on time.
- Handle multiple concurrent tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Conduct requirement‑gathering sessions, produce user documentation, and develop training programs.
- Maintain rigorous adherence to CI/CD pipelines, version control, and system audit procedures.
- Collaborate with teams across business units and technology domains to integrate APIs and align with enterprise standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, and SQL.
- Develop RESTful services, consume and expose APIs via Spring Boot, SharePoint REST, and other web protocols.
- Configure and manage build tools (Maven, Webpack, Babel) and continuous integration tools (GitLab CI, Git).
- Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root‑cause analysis, and implement fixes.
- Provide end‑user support and create training materials for application roll‑outs.
- Perform system performance audits, security reviews, and compliance checks.
- Collaborate with application owners to design and use shared APIs and microservices.
- Manage project backlog, estimate effort, and track progress using Agile tools.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, and SQL.
- Experience with web technologies: REST, jQuery, AJAX, XML, JSON, React, Spring Boot, Maven.
- Familiarity with SharePoint and SharePoint REST API.
- Version control with Git; experience with Git workflows.
- Strong Linux (Fedora/CentOS/RHEL) and Bash scripting skills.
- Analytical and problem‑solving abilities; decision‑making under pressure.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work independently.
- CI/CD pipeline experience (GitLab CI or equivalent).
Preferred (but not mandatory) skills:
- Project management fundamentals.
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and TypeScript.
- Mantine React‑JS framework.
- OAuth2/OIDC authentication concepts.
- Unit testing (Jest, JUnit, etc.) and ORM tools (Hibernate, JPA).
- ServiceNow usage and cloud‑infrastructure awareness.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Current undergraduate student enrolled in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Must be actively enrolled in at least one semester (spring/fall) preceding the internship and resume studies immediately after.
- Minimum age 18, no prior Disney internship exceeding one year, and unrestricted U.S. work authorization.
