Job Description
Job Title: Senior Director of Information Technology & Systems Role Summary: Lead the global IT organization, setting strategy, governance, and operations to align technology with business objectives. Oversee all systems, security, infrastructure, support, and vendor relationships while managing budget and fostering high‑performance teams. Expectations: - Deliver enterprise‑wide IT strategy and roadmap that supports business growth and innovation. - Ensure high availability, reliability, and security of IT services. - Manage a multi‑disciplinary team, mentor staff, and maintain a culture of continuous improvement. - Control the IT budget, negotiate vendor contracts, and achieve cost efficiency. - Communicate effectively with senior management and cross‑functional stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee IT operations, infrastructure, security, support, and help desk functions. - Develop and enforce IT policies, standards, procedures, and compliance frameworks. - Conduct business‑needs analysis for all departments and recommend technology solutions. - Procure hardware, software, and services; manage upgrades and new system implementations. - Build and maintain vendor relationships; negotiate and manage contracts. - Monitor IT performance, risks, and incidents; implement corrective and preventive actions. - Plan and manage the IT budget, resources, and capital expenditures. - Drive adoption of emerging technologies and innovative solutions. - Provide leadership, coaching, and career development for IT staff. - Collaborate with finance, HR, legal, and sales to embed technology tools. Required Skills: - Strategic IT planning and road‑mapping. - Governance, risk, and compliance (including ISO, GDPR, etc.). - Cloud architecture, network & system administration, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, IT service management. - Project portfolio management and large‑scale implementation. - Budgeting, financial analysis, and cost optimization. - Vendor management and contract negotiation. - Strong written and verbal communication. - Leadership, team building, and coaching. - Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple initiatives. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). - Minimum 12 years of IT management experience, with 5 + years in a senior leadership role. - Proven experience as Head of IT/Information Systems. - Certifications: ITIL, PMP, CISSP, CISM, CISA (or equivalent) are preferred. - Experience in media or publishing is a plus.
