**Job Title**
Software Engineer, Infrastructure Engineering
**Role Summary**
Design, implement, and maintain scalable AWS‑based infrastructure that supports application and service operation. Collaborate with DevOps to deliver reliable, secure, and high‑performing cloud environments, enabling rapid development and deployment of software solutions.
**Expectations**
* Minimum 3 years in infrastructure, cloud, or backend engineering.
* Proven hands‑on experience with AWS (or equivalent cloud provider).
* Strong programming, system design, and scripting skills.
* Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and application/network security.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Enhance and modernize AWS infrastructure using best‑practice patterns.
* Oversee critical databases leveraged by engineering teams.
* Develop and maintain reusable infrastructure services for deployment and scaling.
* Implement IaC, automation, intrusion/malware detection, business continuity, and disaster‑recovery tooling.
* Perform security reviews for new projects, technologies, and services.
* Author and maintain infrastructure and security guidance, policies, and documentation.
**Required Skills**
* AWS architecture and services (EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudFormation).
* IaC tooling – Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
* Automation and configuration management – Vault, Nomad, Packer, Vagrant, Boundary, Consul, Waypoint.
* Monitoring and observability – Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch.
* Databases – RDS, Redis, Aerospike, ScyllaDB.
* Messaging – Kafka, Nginx, Envoy.
* Programming/scripting – Go, Python, Bash, or similar.
* Database and system security fundamentals.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
* Cloud certifications preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or equivalent.
* Terraform Associate certification is a plus.
