Job Description
**Job Title:** Azure Cloud Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, deploy, and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable SaaS platforms on Microsoft Azure. Integrate DevOps practices, continuous delivery, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure operational excellence and rapid, reliable releases. **Expectations:** - Deliver and support production-grade Azure infrastructure for SaaS products. - Collaborate with development, security, and product teams to embed reliability, observability, and compliance throughout the CI/CD pipeline. - Lead incident management, post‑mortem analysis, and proactive capacity/resource planning. - Document processes, tools, and platform knowledge for internal teams. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Operations & Reliability Engineering** - Monitor and troubleshoot Azure-hosted services; respond to alerts and incidents. - Design and implement fault‑tolerant, scalable architectures using Azure services, Docker, Kubernetes, and SQL. 2. **Automation & Tooling** - Build IaC templates (Bicep, ARM, Terraform) and configure CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions). - Develop scripts (PowerShell, Python, Go) to automate manual tasks and deployment workflows. 3. **Observability & Monitoring** - Deploy and manage Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Grafana dashboards, alerts, and log aggregation. 4. **Incident Response & Root Cause Analysis** - Participate in on‑call rotations, lead high‑impact incident resolution, and conduct post‑mortems with blameless culture. 5. **Performance & Capacity Planning** - Analyze telemetry to identify bottlenecks; model and forecast capacity requirements. 6. **Change & Release Engineering** - Partner on release pipelines, validate deployments, and automate quality and security checks. 7. **Security & Compliance** - Embed ISO 27001, SOC 2 controls; collaborate with governance teams to integrate security into automation. 8. **Documentation & Knowledge Management** - Maintain comprehensive Dev/ops wiki covering infrastructure, processes, and tools. **Required Skills:** - Deep expertise in Azure cloud services, IaC, and container orchestration (Kubernetes). - Strong scripting (PowerShell, Python, Go) and DevOps toolchain proficiency. - Experience with performance monitoring, alerting, and log analytics. - Ability to diagnose complex system issues and implement scalable, resilient solutions. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and calmness under pressure. - Analytical mindset with systems‑thinking approach to problem solving. - Familiarity with SaaS platform operations and ITIL‑aligned support processes. - Knowledge of Microsoft Teams/Voice, Windows Server, and Cloud Security best practices. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent professional experience. - Azure certifications: AZ‑104 (required); AZ‑400 (recommended). - Microsoft 365/Microsoft Teams certification is a plus.
