**Job Title**
Systems Engineer – Railway
**Role Summary**
Finalize functional specifications and engineer the design of railway systems. Coordinate across mechanical, electrical, software, hydraulic, and pneumatic disciplines, validate design consistency, and develop test procedures for system integration.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 5 years of systems engineering experience.
- Broad knowledge of railway domains (electricity/electrotechnics, hardware, software, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics).
- At least one of the following core competencies: railway safety systems engineering, railway braking systems engineering, or railway traction electrical engineering.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Extract and refine functional specifications from external project briefs.
- Conduct functional design reviews with mechanical, safety, reliability, electrical, and software engineers.
- Ensure alignment between functional schematics and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Export and validate requirements into detailed functional specifications (SFD).
- Define, design, and document system test procedures.
- Maintain documentation and coordinate with electrical drafting teams.
**Required Skills**
- Systems engineering (definition, validation, documentation).
- Cross‑disciplinary collaboration (mechanical, electrical, software, hydraulics, pneumatics).
- Functional and safety design reviews.
- Knowledge of railway safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability standards.
- Experience with test planning and procedure development.
- Strong analytical and communication capabilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electrotechnical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Professional certification or equivalent experience in railway safety systems, braking systems, or traction electrical engineering is essential.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., EN 50126/50128, IEC 60529, ISO 9001).
