**Job Title:** Data Architecture and Migration Lead – Google Cloud Platform
**Role Summary:**
Lead end‑to‑end migration of a large enterprise data platform from AWS/Databricks to Google Cloud Platform. Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical engineering, driving architectural design, delivery strategy, and governance to ensure a seamless, high‑integrity transition.
**Expectations:**
- Own the full migration lifecycle for high‑visibility initiatives.
- Maintain clear, continuous communication with stakeholders and engineering teams.
- Deliver architectural roadmaps and governance frameworks that meet data integrity and security standards.
- Ensure on‑time, on‑budget, and high‑quality delivery of migration projects.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive migration strategy and roadmap from AWS/Databricks to GCP.
2. Architect scalable GCP data solutions (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataprep, Dataflow, Cloud Functions, etc.) aligned with business requirements and data governance policies.
3. Lead cross‑functional engineering teams (data engineers, data scientists, security specialists) through transformation phases: assessment, design, implementation, testing, and cut‑over.
4. Define and enforce data quality, security, and compliance standards throughout the migration.
5. Manage risk, issues, and change requests; provide status updates to executives and stakeholders.
6. Capture and document best practices, migration patterns, and post‑migration operational guidelines.
7. Mentor and coach technical staff on GCP architecture and migration best practices.
**Required Skills:**
- Extensive experience designing and migrating large, complex data platforms to GCP.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services (Redshift, EMR, S3, Glue, etc.) and Databricks data pipelines.
- Proficiency with GCP data services: BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataprep, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, and related IAM/Policy controls.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, privacy (GDPR, CCPA) and compliance frameworks.
- Proven project management and stakeholder engagement in high‑visibility, multi‑domain initiatives.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities; comfortable presenting to executive audiences.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD for data pipelines.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 8+ years of relevant experience in data architecture, data engineering, or cloud migration.
- Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer) strongly preferred.
