Building on a 100+ year history of innovation in manufacturing and product development, we produce a diverse array of products from a wide range of raw materials including lignite, peat, bituminous coal, coconut and wood. Calibrations & Controls Engineer
Job Description
Job title: Calibrations & Controls Engineer Role Summary: Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining calibration systems and process controls in a manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with ISO, IATF, and safety regulations while driving continuous improvement. Expactations: • Deliver accurate calibration and control solutions that meet industry standards. • Lead calibration schedules, documentation, and training. • Collaborate with production, quality, and IT teams to resolve issues. • Identify and evaluate new calibration technologies. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain calibration systems and schedules in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF16949:2016. - Calibrate process instruments (weighing, flow, level, temperature) and oversee calibration data analysis. - Recommend corrective actions and process improvements based on variance analysis. - Specify, purchase, and qualify instrumentation and control equipment. - Troubleshoot calibration and control issues in partnership with production and quality teams. - Support process automation systems (Allen Bradley Logix, Siemens S7 PLCs, GE IFIX SCADA, HMIs). - Maintain documentation of calibration activities, reports, and system changes. - Provide training to operations and maintenance staff on calibration procedures and control systems. - Ensure safety and environmental compliance in all calibration and control activities. - Evaluate emerging calibration technologies for potential implementation. Required Skills: - Strong knowledge of pneumatic and electro‑mechanical instrumentation (weighing, flow, level, temperature). - Hands‑on experience with PLCs, SCADA, and process data tools. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems. - Excellent problem‑solving, attention to detail, and collaborative teamwork. - Experience leading continuous improvement projects in calibration and controls. Required Education & Certifications: - BEng/MEng/BSc/MSc in Electrical, Process Control, or related engineering discipline. - Familiarity with analytical instruments and applicable international standards.
