**Job Title**
Solutions Engineer
**Role Summary**
Senior 3rd line technical engineer serving as the escalation point for a large MSP that supports over 5,000 users across 100 media‑industry businesses. Responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, managing and upgrading infrastructure, and delivering end‑to‑end solutions across hybrid on‑premises and cloud environments.
**Expectations**

**Key Responsibilities**
1. Provide third‑line support, escalating and resolving complex technical issues for clients and junior engineers.
2. Manage server configuration, virtualization (Hyper‑V), and enterprise backup solutions (Veeam).
3. Configure and maintain Windows Server services: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies.
4. Design and implement network settings (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols) and ensure secure connections.
5. Lead cloud service implementations (Microsoft 365, Intune) and oversee cloud storage solutions (Lucidlink, Egnyte).
6. Deploy operating systems using MDT and enforce endpoint security with tools such as Microsoft Defender, Sophos, or Bitdefender.
7. Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps; keep knowledge base current.
8. Mentor junior engineers and drive a collaborative support culture.
9. Manage client expectations, deliver status updates, and ensure satisfaction during infrastructure upgrades and migrations.
**Required Skills**
* 3rd‑line technical support experience.
* Expertise in Veeam backup and recovery.
* Proficient with hybrid on‑prem and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365).
* Strong networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols.
* Windows Server administration: AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO.
* Virtualization: Hyper‑V configuration and management.
* Cloud service and storage implementation (Microsoft 365, Intune, Lucidlink, Egnyte).
* OS deployment expertise with MDT.
* Endpoint security experience with Microsoft Defender, Sophos, Bitdefender.
* Excellent written and verbal communication; documentation skills.
* Client‑facing, collaborative, and problem‑solving mindset.
**Required Education & Certifications**
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field *or* equivalent professional experience.
* Relevant certifications (preferred):
- Veeam Certified Engineer (VCE)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals/Azure Administrator or Microsoft 365 Certified (like MS-100/101)
- Windows Server/MCSE or MCSA
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP or CompTIA Network+
- Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Security Engineer)
