Job Description
Job title: Data Scientist Role Summary: Leverage advanced machine learning, computer vision, and statistical techniques to deliver digital solutions that accelerate product development, improve manufacturing quality, and enhance color matching across chemical and material science domains. Work collaboratively across global teams, applying state‑of‑the‑art algorithms to biomedical, industrial, and consumer product challenges. Expectations: - Drive rapid, actionable insights through agile, cross‑functional sprints. - Translate scientific datasets into scalable predictive models and visualizations. - Validate AI/ML readiness and recommend data acquisition strategies to close gaps. - Communicate results to stakeholders, demonstrating quantifiable business impact. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement deep learning and reinforcement learning models for image, voice, and text data. - Conduct multivariate analysis, clustering, classification, regression, and multi‑objective optimization. - Apply advanced statistics to complex scientific problems. - Visualize data to uncover opportunities and communicate findings. - Evaluate and integrate emerging ML, CV, and statistical methods. - Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to deploy digital products and services. Required Skills: - Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or equivalent. - Minimum 5 years of data‑driven problem solving, preferably combining machine learning, computer vision, and material science. - Proficient in Python, with experience in TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras. - Strong experience in multivariate, clustering, classification, regression, and optimization algorithms. - Advanced statistical analysis using Python, R, or MATLAB. - Familiarity with SQL, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and distributed data environments. - Agile development experience and Six Sigma (Yellow Belt or higher). Required Education & Certifications: - Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or related field. - Six Sigma Yellow Belt (or higher).
