**Job Title:**
Associate Director, Legal Operations
**Role Summary:**
Senior operational leader of the Legal Department, responsible for designing, executing, and scaling a world‑class legal operations function. Drives strategy, technology, process, and data analytics to enhance efficiency, reduce risk, and support corporate goals.
**Expectations:**
- Develop and lead the legal operations strategy aligned with enterprise objectives.
- Exhibit deep expertise in legal operations, business acumen, and stakeholder influence across a regulated environment.
- Build and mentor a high‑performance team covering technology, analytics, project management, knowledge management, and vendor management.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Define and implement operational strategy, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Own the legal technology roadmap: evaluate, deploy, and manage e‑billing, matter management, AI‑enabled tools, compliance platforms, and electronic discovery systems.
- Partner with IT, Cybersecurity, Finance, Procurement, and Accounting to ensure integration of legal technology solutions.
- Oversee records management, document standards, and legal intake workflows.
- Build a data‑driven performance program: track KPIs (contracting velocity, matter lifecycle, counsel spend, cost trends, service metrics), derive insights, and recommend actions.
- Direct budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and vendor management (outside counsel and third parties).
- Lead major cross‑functional projects, ensuring clear scope, timelines, and communication.
- Develop and maintain knowledge management resources, playbooks, and training materials.
**Required Skills:**
- Proven leadership in legal operations, with successful oversights of technology, analytics, and process improvement.
- Strong business judgment, project management, and strategic decision‑making.
- Experience with e‑billing, matter management, legal intake, AI‑driven legal tech, and electronic discovery platforms.
- Data analytics proficiency; ability to translate metrics into actionable recommendations.
- Vendor and budget management expertise, including rate negotiation and performance evaluation.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross‑functional collaboration.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree preferred.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive legal operations or related experience (e.g., a combination of legal, procurement, or technology roles).
- Certified Legal Operations Professional (CLIP) or similar credential is a plus.
