Job title: FPGA Engineer
Role Summary: Design, develop, test, document, and maintain FPGA solutions for frame‑grabber products, utilizing high‑end devices and industry‑standard tools while ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
Expectations: Deliver complete FPGA architecture and code, conduct simulations, create detailed documentation, troubleshoot design issues, support ongoing maintenance, and contribute innovative ideas within a consulting framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Specify, design, and implement FPGA architectures for frame‑grabber products, including IP core integration and custom logic.
- Simulate and validate designs using ModelSim, Vivado, Quartus, or equivalent.
- Document design decisions, test plans, and user guides.
- Maintain and troubleshoot FPGA hardware in production environments.
- Evaluate and integrate high‑performance interfaces: PCIe, CoaXPress, DDR4, Gigabit Ethernet.
- Research and adopt next‑generation devices (Versal, Kintex UltraScale, Agilex, Zynq MPSoC).
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, provide technical guidance, and support client deliverables.
- Participate in code reviews, version control workflows, and continuous integration processes.
Required Skills
- Mastery of FPGA design tools (Vivado, Quartus, ModelSim) and vendor toolchains (AMD/Xilinx, Intel/Altera, Microchip/Microsemi, Lattice, Gowin).
- Proficient in VHDL, Verilog, and HLS; experience with ANSI C, Tcl, Python, and source‑control systems.
- Strong simulation and debugging experience with ModelSim or similar.
- Knowledge of high‑speed interface standards (PCIe, CoaXPress, DDR4, Ethernet).
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English; French language skills preferred.
- Analytical, detail‑oriented, and capable of independent problem solving.
Required Education & Certifications
- Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of FPGA development experience.
- Valid certifications in FPGA design tools (e.g., Xilinx Certified Design Engineer, Intel FPGA Design Engineer) are a plus.
