Job title: Junior Security Engineer
Role Summary: Entry‑level security engineer responsible for deploying, automating, and maintaining security tools and IAM controls across Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes environments. Works closely with IT, operations, and DevOps teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure provisioning (IaC).
Expactations:
- ≤2 years of experience in IT/security or relevant internships/projects.
- Strong scripting/programming skills and foundation in IAM concepts.
- Ability to learn rapidly, collaborate in a fast‑paced infrastructure setting, and contribute to incident response and testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy and maintain security solutions (DLP, SIEM, E‑mail security, endpoint protection).
- Automate tool configuration, updates, and security workflows using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or NPM.
- Develop IaC modules with Terraform or Ansible; manage secure settings across services.
- Implement role‑based access controls and least‑privilege policies; automate IAM processes in CI/CD.
- Support secure onboarding/off‑boarding, access reviews, and governance workflows.
- Integrate security scans (SAST, DAST, secrets management) into build pipelines.
- Assist with incident response, troubleshooting of security tools, and penetration test support.
- Produce and update security documentation, standards, and procedures.
- Participate in on‑call and weekend support rotations as required.
Required Skills:
- Scripting/programming: Python, PowerShell, Bash.
- IaC & automation: Terraform, Ansible (incl. Tower).
- IAM fundamentals: LDAP, OAuth, IdP, RBAC, least privilege.
- Security tooling: SIEM, EDR, DLP, antivirus, secrets‑management (Vault).
- CI/CD & DevOps platforms: Bitbucket, Azure DevOps pipelines, AWS, Azure.
- Operating systems: Windows, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes.
- Networking & protocols: TCP/IP, HTTPS, DNS, firewalls, proxies.
- Analytical, detail‑oriented, strong communication, team collaboration.
Required Education & Certifications:
- University degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related STEM field.
- Optional but advantageous: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC‑900, AWS Cloud Practitioner.
