Job Description
Job title: Full Stack Engineer - Outside IR35 Role Summary: Frontend‑centric Full Stack Engineer responsible for building and maintaining an innovative insurance product. Lead development of user interfaces with React.js while contributing to backend services in Ruby. Operate within a cloud‑native stack using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines to deliver secure, high‑performance applications. Expactations: Deliver clean, maintainable code that meets performance and security standards. Collaborate closely with product and design teams to translate requirements into high‑quality features. Manage end‑to‑end deployments, ensuring reliable scaling and uptime. Adapt to a fast‑paced, agile environment and adhere to contractual Outside IR35 terms. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain React.js front‑end applications. • Implement and extend backend services in Ruby. • Integrate with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS). • Containerise applications with Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes. • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.). • Optimize application performance, conduct code reviews, and enforce security best practices. • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (product, design, QA). Required Skills: • Proficient in React.js (hooks, context, performance optimisation). • Strong Ruby development skills (Rails or core). • Experience with AWS cloud services. • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes containerisation. • Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and automation tools. • Ability to design and consume RESTful APIs. • Unit and integration testing (Jest, RSpec). • Version control with Git. • Agile/Scrum methodology experience. • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). • Optional but preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Docker Certified Associate, Ruby certification.
