Job Description
Job Title: DevOps Engineer Role Summary: Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and cost‑efficient AWS cloud environments, from IaC scripting to CI/CD pipeline delivery, while collaborating with architects, security teams, and stakeholders to meet production readiness and business objectives. Expectations: - Deliver end‑to‑end cloud solutions on AWS - Maintain high availability, performance, and compliance standards - Mentor teammates and drive continuous improvement in DevOps practices Key Responsibilities: - Architect and implement AWS solutions for scalability, resilience, and security - Author and maintain IaC using Terraform and CloudFormation - Build and manage CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Git, and Ansible - Deploy and support applications, serverless services (Lambda, API Gateway), and multi‑tier AWS environments - Apply cloud security controls (IAM, encryption, monitoring) and ensure compliance - Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise cloud performance and costs - Participate in project planning, technical decision‑making, and Agile delivery cycles - Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers Required Skills: - Deep experience with AWS services (compute, networking, storage, databases) - Proficient in IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation - Hands‑on CI/CD: Jenkins, Git‑based workflows, Ansible - Knowledge of serverless (Lambda, API Gateway) and Linux OS fundamentals - Programming/scripting in Python (or similar) - Experience with distributed, highly available cloud applications - Familiarity with AWS security best practices (IAM, encryption, monitoring) - Agile mindset and strong communication skills Required Education & Certifications: - Minimum bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) preferred - UK Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain required.
