Job Description

Job title: Senior Data Engineer Role Summary: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of cloud‑based data pipelines for a health‑tech platform, ensuring high‑quality, secure, and scalable data ingestion, transformation, and distribution. Expectations: - Deliver reliable AWS data pipelines on schedule. - Achieve robust data quality and governance for sensitive health information. - Enable rapid onboarding of new hospitals/regions through IaC automation. Key Responsibilities: - Own and optimize AWS data pipelines using Glue, Athena, S3, and Postgres. - Develop and maintain Airflow workflows for orchestrating ETL and ELT processes. - Resolve last‑mile integration challenges from hospital systems, ensuring clean, mapped, and usable data. - Automate deployment of new hospital/region components via infrastructure‑as‑code. - Implement and enforce data quality, monitoring, and retention controls for highly sensitive data. Required Skills: - Strong proficiency in AWS (Glue, Athena, S3, Postgres) and Python. - Hands‑on experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow. - Expertise in data pipeline design, optimization, and monitoring. - Knowledge of data quality frameworks and security best practices for health data. - Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation). - Ability to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues with complex source systems. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field. - Professional AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty) preferred.
