Job Description
**Job Title** Data Protection Advisor **Role Summary** Senior Data Protection advisor providing expert guidance to the Group Data Protection Officer and business units. Oversees data protection strategy, policy development, incident management, and regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws. **Expectations** * Deliver actionable data protection insights and compliance support in a fast‑paced, regulated environment. * Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of privacy regulations and regulatory developments in all operational markets. * Provide timely, accurate reporting and metrics to senior leadership and regulators. **Key Responsibilities** * Compile and present reporting on key metrics (Information Rights, DPIAs, complaints, breaches). * Investigate personal data breaches and complaints; develop findings for the DPO, maintain incident register. * Manage team mailboxes: respond to enquiries, prioritize time‑critical issues, and support policy development. * Review and advise on Data Processing Agreements, third‑party contracts, and data protection agreements. * Update and maintain Records of Processing Activities, Information Rights log, DPIA and LIA documentation. * Serve as the single point of contact for data protection queries across IT, legal, security, and compliance. * Monitor regulatory changes, fines, and enforcement actions; recommend programme improvements. * Contribute to the development and periodic review of the company’s data protection framework and SOPs. **Required Skills** * Deep knowledge of GDPR, PIPEDA, UK Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation. * Experience conducting DPIAs, LIAs, managing ROPAs, and administrating Information Rights. * Proficiency in incident register management and investigative reporting. * Strong stakeholder‑management and communication skills. * Ability to translate legal requirements into practical business processes. * Familiarity with data protection in AI and technological projects is an advantage. **Required Education & Certifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Technology, Compliance, or related field. * Professional certification (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CGPP, or equivalent) preferred. ---
