**Job Title:** Database Administrator (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL)
**Role Summary:**
Manage, maintain, optimize, and secure the organization’s relational databases across Oracle, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL, and SQL Server. Ensure high availability, performance, and compliance while supporting application teams and data‑intensive projects.
**Expectations:**
- 3‑5 + years of hands‑on Oracle database administration (11g‑19c).
- Proven ability to operate multi‑platform DB environments and deliver rapid incident response.
- Strong analytical mindset, meticulous documentation, and effective communication with technical and business stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MySQL instances.
- Monitor performance, tune SQL queries, and conduct preventive maintenance.
- Design and execute backup/recovery strategies (RMAN, pg_dump, mysqldump) and DR plans.
- Optimize performance through index management, partitioning, and resource allocation.
- Implement security controls: user/role management, encryption, and GDPR compliance.
- Ensure continuity of service with high‑availability solutions (Oracle SE, Data Guard, PostgreSQL streaming replication, MariaDB Galera, etc.).
- Produce and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Participate in migration, architecture redesign, and cloud‑transition projects.
- Provide DB support to scientific and business projects; develop auxiliary scripts/tools (PHP, Python) as needed.
**Required Skills:**
- Oracle Database (11g‑19c), PL/SQL, Oracle SE, RMAN.
- PostgreSQL, MariaDB or MySQL administration.
- Strong SQL proficiency and performance‑tuning expertise.
- Linux/Unix systems administration and shell scripting.
- Backup/recovery planning and disaster‑recovery execution.
- Desired: Monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix), Oracle Enterprise Manager, Data Guard, RAC, Python/PHP development.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s (Bac +4) or Master’s (Bac +5) degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Oracle Database Administrator certification (preferred but not mandatory).
