**Job title**
Aeronautical Systems Engineer – Concept Design (F/M)
**Role Summary**
Lead the definition, finalisation, and documentation of aircraft architecture during the Concept Design phase. Deliver comprehensive design packages, develop certification plans, and support transition to downstream design, prototyping, and production phases.
**Expectations**
- Deliver a complete, frozen aircraft design (OAD, OML) and subsystem architectures.
- Provide a detailed development programme, certification strategy, and risk‑based plan.
- Produce technical deliverables (DMU, BOM, analyses, risk registers) for procurement of design‑build partners.
- Build and validate mock‑up cockpit and scaled test models.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Finalise aircraft global design (airframe, aerodynamics, structure, propulsion, onboard systems).
- Define development programme, certification plan, and manufacturing readiness.
- Produce full design package for tendering to partners.
- Construct cockpit mock‑up (1:1) and reduced‑scale test models for wind‑tunnel/flight‑test.
- Lead and prepare key reviews:
- System Requirements Review (SRR) – architecture deliverables, preliminary studies (stress, mass, safety), compromise analyses, DMU, certification & development plan, risk register, financial evaluation.
- Concept Design Review (CR) – functional & electronic architecture consolidation, updated analyses, Technology Readiness Assessment, compliance matrices, V&V plan, industrial & supply‑chain plan, preliminary manufacturing plan.
**Required Skills**
- Aerospace engineering with experience in early design phases.
- System architecture and preliminary design (structure, systems, performance).
- Mass & balance analysis, safety assurance (SFHA, PRA).
- Programme planning (risk, cost, schedule, supply chain).
- Ability to produce and integrate complex technical deliverables (DMU, BOM, risk registers, compliance matrices, certification & development plans).
- Strong communication and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Systems Engineering (or equivalent).
- Relevant professional certifications in aerospace design, safety, or systems engineering are a plus.
