Manager, Software Engineer (Technology Solutions)
**Role Summary**
Lead and mentor a team of software engineers to design, build, and scale internal, high‑volume products and services that support global entertainment operations. Own engineering vision, standards, and delivery processes while collaborating with product, project, and platform teams to align technology with business objectives.
**Expectations**

- Ensure engineering standards, policies, and best practices are followed.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Set overall vision and approach for internally developed products and services.
- Manage and mentor a team of software engineers.
- Maintain engineering standards, policies, and quality metrics.
- Collaborate with product management and project teams to prioritize value‑driven work.
- Shape technology strategy and roadmap in partnership with senior leadership.
- Lead design and development of VOD publishing workflows, reporting, integrations, and related applications using modern frameworks.
- Scope projects, provide timeline estimates, and create functional & technical design documentation.
- Integrate and maintain tools leveraging YouTube and other third‑party APIs.
- Develop middleware for first‑ and third‑party system integration.
- Work with platform engineering to design cost‑efficient workloads on AWS and private cloud.
- Define code writing, testing, and deployment standards; oversee CI/CD pipelines.
- Review technical documentation and conduct retrospectives to drive process improvements.
**Required Skills**
- Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
- Proficient in Python and PHP for high‑traffic applications.
- SQL expertise; experience with at least one relational DBMS, database design, NoSQL, performance tuning, and ETL.
- Hands‑on with CI/CD tools (Git, GitHub Actions) and containerization (Docker, Swarm).
- Front‑end knowledge: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery UI, Bootstrap, Vue, React.
- Linux (Ubuntu/Amazon Linux) environment proficiency; Bash/Shell scripting.
- Deep understanding of core internet technologies (DNS, SSH, CDNs, CORS, security).
- Experience building distributed applications and microservices on AWS and private cloud.
- Strong grasp of REST API integration, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Familiarity with Laravel Vapor/Nova, BigQuery, and AWS Developer certification considered a plus.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Post‑graduate or specialized certifications in internet technologies (optional).
- AWS Developer certification – preferred but not mandatory.
