Job Title: Business Development Manager Role Summary: Drive growth of patent and intellectual property services across the UK and internationally by developing and executing a strategic BD plan, building relationships with senior stakeholders, and expanding presence in key innovation sectors. Expectations: - Deliver measurable revenue targets and market share growth for IP offerings. - Collaborate with senior leadership to align BD strategy with firm objectives. - Expand client base in technology, biotech, and emerging sectors. Key Responsibilities: - Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including corporate clients and strategic partnerships. - Conduct market analysis to uncover trends, competitive landscape, and potential clients. - Design and implement client engagement programs and outreach campaigns. - Negotiate and close contracts, ensuring alignment with firm pricing and profitability models. - Present BD strategy and performance metrics to senior management. - Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management. - Foster strong relationships with existing clients to drive repeat business and referrals. Required Skills: - Proven experience in business development or sales within legal, IP, or consulting environments. - Strong analytical, strategic planning, and negotiation abilities. - Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. - Ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior leadership. - Familiarity with IP market trends, patent filing processes, and innovation ecosystems. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred). - Additional certifications in business development, sales, or IP (e.g., Certified Business Development Professional) are advantageous.
