Job Description

**Job title**: Data Engineer **Role Summary**: Responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling a data architecture on Azure, building reliable pipelines, and delivering business intelligence dashboards that translate raw data into actionable insights. **Expectations**: - Evolve an existing Azure-based data ecosystem into a future‑proof, scalable platform. - Deliver robust, maintainable pipelines and BI solutions that support real‑time decision making. - Collaborate with stakeholders to align data flow with business goals. **Key Responsibilities**: - Collect, structure, and manage data across Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, and related databases. - Design and implement scalable data pipelines and architecture. - Develop, maintain, and iterate on BI dashboards and reporting solutions. - Partner with business users to understand data needs and translate them into technical specifications. - Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices. - Mentor and guide junior team members on pipeline design and performance optimization. **Required Skills**: - Proven experience as a Data Engineer in a cloud environment, preferably Azure. - Expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and SQL/NoSQL databases. - Strong background in data pipeline design, ETL/ELT processes, and performance tuning. - Ability to architect scalable, maintainable data solutions. - Proficiency with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent) and dashboard development. - Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards. - Fluent in Dutch; English proficiency is a plus. - Hands‑on mindset with a focus on best practices and scalability. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field. - Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-203, AZ-104, or Azure Data Engineer Associate) preferred.
