Job Title: Network Security Engineer
Role Summary:
Design, deploy, and maintain secure network architectures (LAN, WAN, VPN, cloud) to protect system confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, and other security tools, monitor traffic, investigate incidents, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.
Expectations:
- Collaborate with the IT security team to implement best security practices.
- Respond to incidents and participate in on‑call rotations.
- Produce and maintain network diagrams, documentation, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement LAN/WAN, VPN, and cloud network solutions with security controls.
- Configure and manage firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco), IDS/IPS, proxies, and segmentation.
- Monitor network traffic, analyze alerts, and investigate security incidents.
- Perform vulnerability scans, risk analyses, and remediation.
- Enforce compliance with internal policies, EU/Belgian security standards, and regulation.
- Maintain up‑to‑date documentation and network diagrams.
- Participate in incident response and on‑call duties as required.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and networking protocols.
- Hands‑on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation.
- Security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management.
- Fluent Dutch (written and spoken); good working English.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, or CISM preferred but not mandatory.
