Job Description: Job title: Data Scientist Role Summary: The Data Scientist leads analytical initiatives within Digital Services, applying statistical analysis and machine learning to develop data products, optimise live services, and inform policy and marketing decisions. The role delivers insights from diverse datasets, supports product reliability, and drives continuous improvement through data-driven decisions. Expectations: Deliver high‑value analytical products and services on time and to quality standards; maintain and enhance live data services; communicate findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders; champion data science best practices; exhibit commercial awareness and customer focus; mentor junior team members. Required Skills: - Programming proficiency in Python and/or R with clean, efficient code. - Strong analytical and logical thinking; critical problem‑solving skills. - Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, ggplot2). - Proven track record of developing, testing, and deploying statistical and machine‑learning models. - Ability to translate analytical outcomes into business benefits. - Excellent communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences. - Collaborative mindset, curiosity, and commercial awareness. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, computer science, operations research, data science, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent professional experience. - Certifications in data science or analytics tools are advantageous but not mandatory.
