**Job title**
Safety Process Engineer
**Role Summary**
Lead and implement process safety activities for large‑scale energy and LNG EPC projects. Own risk identification, mitigation design, safety reviews, and specifications for fire and gas protection systems while ensuring compliance with international standards.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 5 years of process safety engineering experience in oil & gas or energy sector.
- Proven ability to work autonomously within multicultural project teams.
- Strong analytical and communication skills in English (written & spoken).
- Capacity to supervise or review junior engineers’ deliverables.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Identify and qualify major accident events; define hazards and risk controls.
- Design and recommend prevention, control, mitigation, and protection measures.
- Lead and contribute to safety reviews: HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, etc.
- Conduct preliminary risk assessments and update risk registers.
- Review plot plans, piping layouts, and 3‑D models to verify safety requirements.
- Perform hazardous area classification (HAZMAT) and contribute to passive/active fire protection studies.
- Draft specifications for fire and gas detection systems, and personnel protection equipment.
- Support vendor follow‑up, evaluate technical bids, and validate technical documentation.
- Collaborate with Process, Piping, Instrumentation, Civil, and other engineering disciplines.
- Provide technical recommendations that balance safety, cost, schedule, and contractual obligations.
**Required Skills**
- Expertise in risk identification methodologies (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA).
- Knowledge of fire and gas detection systems; fire protection principles.
- Proficiency in international safety standards: NFPA, API, IP, EN1473, etc.
- Fluency in English; effective written and verbal communication.
- Strong command of standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to analyze complex technical information and deliver concise documentation.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Master’s degree (Bac+5) or equivalent in Industrial Process Safety, Petroleum Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., ISO 31000, APIC) preferred but not mandatory.
