Job Title: Safety Process Engineer
Role Summary: Experienced safety engineer tasked with identifying major accident events, designing prevention and mitigation measures, and leading safety review processes for large-scale petrochemical and energy EPC projects.
Expectations: Deliver comprehensive risk evaluations, meet international safety standards, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, and provide technical guidance within cost, schedule, and contractual constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify major accident events.
- Design and recommend prevention, control, mitigation, and protection measures.
- Conduct HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA and other safety reviews.
- Perform preliminary risk assessments and hazardous area classifications.
- Review site plans, 3‑D models, and contribute to fire protection studies (active and passive).
- Specify fire and gas detection systems and personnel protection equipment.
- Evaluate vendor offers, support technical bid assessments, and validate documents.
- Collaborate closely with process, piping, instrumentation, and civil engineering teams.
- Provide technical recommendations under cost, schedule, and contractual constraints.
- Potentially supervise junior engineers and review their deliverables.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years process safety engineering experience in oil & gas or energy sector.
- Proficiency in HAZID, HAZOP, and other risk identification methodologies.
- Knowledge of fire & gas detection systems and fire protection equipment.
- Familiarity with international safety codes and standards (NFPA, API, IP, EN1473, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Ability to work autonomously in multicultural project teams.
- Competence with standard office productivity tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Required Education & Certifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent (Bac+5) in Industrial Process Safety, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Certifications in HAZOP, HAZID, or other process safety standards are advantageous.
