Job Description
**Job title** Team Lead Data & AI **Role Summary** Lead a small team of data analysts to develop and maintain data and AI platforms that support real‑time decision making and continuous improvement in a logistics environment. Translate business needs into data‑driven solutions, set and enforce governance and ethics standards, and collaborate with IT and stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and AI capabilities. **Expectations** - Proven leadership of data or analytics teams in a complex organization. - Ability to translate ad‑hoc business questions into scalable projects. - Commitment to data governance, security, and ethical AI practices. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Analyse current data and AI landscape, set strategic goals and a pragmatic roadmap in partnership with IT. 2. Define, implement and monitor best practices for data governance, AI ethics, cataloguing and compliance. 3. Manage a team of three data analysts: coach, review project deliverables and maintain quality standards. 4. Actively participate in developing AI models, data pipelines, and analytical solutions that drive forecasting, optimisation, automation and new business opportunities. 5. Handle requests from key users and management, prioritising standardisation, scalability and customer focus. 6. Maintain and optimise the data/AI environment; evaluate, adopt and supervise deployment of tools, frameworks and algorithms (e.g., PowerBI, Azure ML, MS Fabric). 7. Translate ad‑hoc questions into inspiring projects that encourage team growth and innovation. 8. Report to the CIO and coordinate with business analysts, database administrators, IT colleagues and external partners. 9. Contribute to system and data security, integrating security and compliance into all data and AI processes. **Required Skills** - Strong leadership, communication and team motivation. - Advanced analytical thinking, abstraction, and solution orientation. - Deep knowledge of data analysis, statistics, and AI concepts. - Experience with relational databases, SQL, ETL processes, machine learning frameworks, and cloud platforms (Azure). - Proficiency in PowerBI and Microsoft Fabric; knowledge of Qliksense, SSRS or other reporting tools is a plus. - Fluency in Dutch and English; French is a plus. **Required Education & Certifications** - Master’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience. - Minimum of 8 years’ experience in data analytics, data engineering, AI or reporting, with a proven track record ready for a team‑lead role.
