Job Description
Job Title: Calcul & Materials Engineer (M/F) Role Summary Support the calculation team throughout the entire product life cycle of aerospace tooling—from analytical pre‑design to prototype testing—by validating input data, performing finite element and analytical calculations, and providing optimisation recommendations to the design team. Expectations - Deliver accurate and validated calculation results. - Collaborate closely with design, project, and production teams. - Ensure data integrity and documentation of all calculation activities. Key Responsibilities - Validate input data with customers and design/project engineers. - Perform predictive sizing of products. - Conduct non‑linear finite element analyses (static, buckling, frequency) in Abaqus. - Carry out analytical calculations for standard elements. - Discuss calculation assumptions and propose optimisation or reinforcement measures. - Author calculation notes and design reports. - Define and execute prototype tests (static, dynamic, functional). - Support production tooling calculations and material equivalence validation. - Maintain and update the materials database. - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and skill development within the engineering department. - Characterise materials or subsystems on tensile testing machines. Required Skills - Proficiency in Abaqus (finite element analysis). - Experience with CATIA V5 (part and assembly design). - Strong foundation in static structural analysis and material strength. - Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams. - Fluency in English (reading, writing, spoken). Optional / Desired Skills - Programming in Python and VBA. - Knowledge of frequency, fatigue, damage, and topology optimisation analyses. - Personal interest in mechanical activities (e.g., automotive, motorcycle, cycling). Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field, with a focus on mechanics, finite element analysis, or aerospace. - Professional certifications in finite element analysis or materials engineering are a plus.
