Job Description
**Job Title:** Freelance End Point Assessor – Digital Engineering Technician **Role Summary:** Conduct independent End Point Assessments (EPA) for the Digital Engineering Technician apprenticeship Standard, ensuring compliance with NOCN quality‑assurance and GDPR requirements. Work flexibly on a freelance basis with occasional on‑site attendance, delivering timely assessment reports and supporting continuous professional development. **Expectations:** - Deliver EPAs that meet NOCN’s QA standards and service level agreements. - Prepare assessments promptly, identify gaps in apprentices’ Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours (KSBs), and build rapport to optimise performance. - Maintain up‑to‑date technical knowledge (CPD) and represent NOCN professionally. - Secure all apprentice data in line with GDPR. - Moderate peer assessors’ work according to internal QA procedures. **Key Responsibilities:** - Assess apprentices against KSBs using work‑based projects, portfolios of evidence, and professional discussions/panel interviews. - Upload assessment reports within agreed timelines. - Prepare assessment materials and identify competency gaps. - Establish quick, supportive relationships with apprentices during assessments. - Keep technical expertise current through continuous professional development. - Uphold NOCN’s professional standards and data‑security protocols. - Conduct moderation of other assessors’ outputs per internal QA guidelines. **Required Skills:** - Strong competency in CAD/BIM tools, standards, and their practical application. - Ability to evaluate technical knowledge, skills, and behaviours objectively. - Excellent written and verbal communication; report writing. - Rapport‑building and interpersonal skills for effective assessment environments. - Familiarity with GDPR and data protection practices. - Moderation and quality‑assurance capabilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - L3 Assessor qualification **or** (minimum two of the following): - Current industry experience (≥3 years) in digital engineering. - Professional qualification at Technician level or higher from a recognized digital engineering institution. - Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in Construction/Built Environment or related discipline. - Demonstrated ≥3 years effective experience applying CAD/BIM tools and standards.

Assess apprentices against Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours through multiple choice tests, observation, questioning and professional interviews, ensuring compliance with NOCN quality assurance standards.
