Job Description
Job Title: Electronics Engineer Role Summary: Design, develop, test, and validate electrical systems and PCB assemblies for precision machinery. Lead end‑to‑end product development from concept through commissioning, ensuring compliance with safety and EMC standards. Expectations: • Own complete electrical design lifecycle on new and existing products. • Deliver robust, compliant solutions for industrial environments. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on interfaces, specifications, and safety documentation. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, test, and validate electrical and electronic systems for machine control. - Design and support PCB assemblies, ensuring reliability in industrial settings. - Create, maintain, and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all electrical components. - Participate in design reviews, defining interfaces, specifications, and communication protocols. - Produce and maintain machinery electrical safety documentation in line with regulatory requirements. - Oversee development, testing, commissioning, and validation of machinery safety circuits. Required Skills: - Experience designing AC/DC power distribution systems compliant with UK/EU Low Voltage Directive and US standards (e.g., NFPA 70). - Strong knowledge of EMC‑compliant design for light and heavy industrial environments. - Hands‑on analog and digital electronics design, including small‑signal handling. - Familiarity with industrial communication interfaces (RS232, RS485, USB, Ethernet). - Ability to write, implement, and manage electrical and machinery safety tests. - Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross‑functional engineering teams on complex mechatronic products. Required Education & Certifications: - Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or equivalent (HND with significant industrial experience). - Certifications or knowledge of relevant safety, EMC, and regulatory standards (e.g., UK/EU Low Voltage Directive, US NFPA 70).
