Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Job Description: Job title: Senior Software Engineer Role Summary: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable backend services for a financial technology platform. Focus on microservice architecture, distributed systems, and high‑performance data storage. Expactations: Deliver production‑ready, maintainable code that supports high‑volume financial transactions. Collaborate closely with product, QA, and DevOps to ensure reliability, observability, and continuous delivery. Actively mentor junior engineers and contribute to architectural decisions. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and optimize microservices handling payments, open banking, and financial reconciliation. - Own and evolve schemas in PostgreSQL and related data stores (e.g., Elastic). - Implement robust error handling, monitoring, and logging for mission‑critical services. - Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and maintain clean code standards. - Integrate with external APIs (Stripe, Adyen, Modulr, Wise, Atlar) and ensure secure, compliant communication. - Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and AWS cloud deployment. - Engage in capacity planning, performance tuning, and scalability strategies. Required Skills: - Strong expertise in backend development with Java, Go, or Python (preferred). - Deep understanding of financial systems, payment flows, and open banking standards. - Experience building and scaling microservices in distributed environments. - Proficiency with PostgreSQL; familiarity with Elastic and other NoSQL solutions. - Solid grasp of cloud infrastructures (AWS) and container orchestration. - Excellent written and verbal communication in English. - Proven ability to write clean, testable code and participate in peer reviews. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (master’s preferred). - AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent cloud certification is a plus.
