Job title: Machine Learning Data Scientist, Forecasting
Role Summary:
Lead the development, scaling, and production of forecasting systems for strategic finance. Own end‑to‑end model lifecycle—from data scoping and feature engineering to deployment, monitoring, and explainability—to forecast key business metrics such as user growth, revenue, LTV, compute usage, and profitability.
Expactations:
- Deliver high‑accuracy, interpretable, production‑ready forecasts for product, finance, infrastructure, and GTM domains.
- Translate model outputs into actionable business recommendations for executive stakeholders.
- Drive cross‑functional collaboration to embed forecasts into planning, experimentation, and decision‑making workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and optimize statistical & machine learning forecasting models.
- Own end‑to‑end modeling lifecycle: scoping, feature engineering, prototyping, experimentation, deployment, monitoring, explainability.
- Develop scalable, real‑time forecasting platforms and self‑service tools for internal teams.
- Research and evaluate emerging forecasting techniques (e.g., TimeGPT, large‑language‑model extensions, causal & hybrid methods).
- Monitor model performance, debug issues, and maintain long‑term health in production.
- Communicate findings clearly to non‑technical audiences and influence strategy.
Required Skills:
- Advanced statistical and machine learning expertise in time‑series forecasting.
- Strong programming skills in Python; proficiency with SQL, scikit‑learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and forecasting libraries.
- Experience with model monitoring, debugging, and production maintenance.
- Excellent storytelling and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Ability to lead ambiguous projects from conception to operationalization.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a quantitative field (Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Operations Research, or related).
- Minimum 7 years of applied data science experience, with deep hands‑on forecasting exposure.
