Job title: Head of Operations & AI Enablement
Role Summary: Lead strategic operational initiatives for a fintech scale‑up, diagnosing complex process and technology issues, designing data‑driven solutions, and embedding AI/ML capabilities to enhance efficiency and quality across banking, risk, and product functions.
Expectations: Deliver actionable, technically informed improvements; act as trusted consultant for senior leadership; scale AI enablement; supervise end‑to‑end project delivery with cross‑functional teams; maintain high standards of data integrity, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnose and root‑cause operational problems across product, engineering, risk, and finance workflows.
2. Conduct structured assessments, translate findings into problem statements and hypothesis‑driven analyses.
3. Design functional and technical specifications for solutions, collaborate with engineering and product to implement or hand off.
4. Identify opportunities for AI/ML automation (triage, routing, generative AI for documents, policy interpretation).
5. Build and maintain metrics, alerts, dashboards, and AI‑based anomaly detection to prevent escalation.
6. Serve as first escalation point for critical operational incidents.
7. Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to senior leaders and technical teams.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of top‑tier consulting (McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or equivalent) with focus on banking/fintech operations.
- Advanced problem‑diagnosis, root‑cause analysis, and structured problem‑solving.
- Proficiency in SQL (write/review) and/or Python for data debugging and analysis.
- Strong understanding of APIs, workflow engines, data pipelines, core banking systems, and system architecture.
- Experience collaborating with product managers, engineers, and data scientists on technical solution design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, simplifying complex issues for senior stakeholders.
- Thrives in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments; owns initiatives from concept to delivery.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MSc) preferred.
- Any relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma, data analytics certificates) are a plus but not mandatory.
