Job Description
Job title: Finance Manager – AI Startup Role Summary: Lead end‑to‑end financial operations, delivering accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow management. Drive non‑dilutive funding strategies and partner with executives to deliver strategic financial insights that support scalable growth. Expactations: - 3+ years in finance, accounting or controlling within tech or startup environments. - Deep knowledge of GAAP/IFRS, financial modeling, and compliance. - Proven track record of securing and managing public or non‑dilutive funding. - Bilingual: fluent English and French. Key Responsibilities: - Manage day‑to‑day accounting: billing, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger. - Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports. - Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis. - Monitor key financial KPIs, optimize resource allocation, and recommend efficiency improvements. - Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance. - Identify, apply for, and manage non‑dilutive funding opportunities (grants, innovation loans, repayable advances). - Collaborate with department heads to control spend and improve cost structures. - Support investor reporting, due diligence, and strategic financial presentations. Required Skills: - Strong accounting and financial analysis expertise. - Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency and experience with financial software (e.g., Pennylane, BI tools). - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Analytical thinking and problem‑solving capabilities. - Ability to work autonomously and in cross‑functional teams. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline. - CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
