Job Title: Zscaler Engineer
Role Summary:
Deliver and evolve Zscaler security solutions (ZIA, ZPA) within a corporate technology estate, aligning with business strategy and budgets. Serve as technical and solution lead, translating complex security concepts for non‑technical stakeholders, and ensuring architecture decisions balance security, performance, and cost.
Expectations:
- Design, implement, and optimize Zscaler services that meet current and future business needs.
- Lead technical evaluation and selection of security tools, documenting trade‑offs and financial impacts.
- Partner with business and IT teams to prioritize requirements and manage project timelines.
- Provide clear communication to executives and operational staff, translating technical details into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess existing security contracts and capabilities, developing improvement and transition roadmaps.
2. Define, prioritize, and deliver Zscaler project plans, including scope, budget forecasting, and resource coordination.
3. Deliver technical architecture, design, and deployment of ZIA and ZPA, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
4. Act as subject‑matter expert on Zscaler products, guiding solution design and implementation.
5. Collaborate with project delivery teams (internal & external) to ensure on‑time, within‑budget delivery.
6. Conduct stakeholder workshops, presentations, and training to facilitate understanding of security initiatives.
7. Evaluate and recommend complementary technologies (software‑defined networking, IAM, adaptive trust).
8. Monitor security metrics, performance, and compliance, proposing continuous improvement actions.
Required Skills:
- Hands‑on experience with Zscaler ZIA and ZPA deployment and configuration.
- Strong knowledge of security service edge concepts, cloud security, and zero‑trust architecture.
- Experience leading security solution projects in complex enterprise environments.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into business‑friendly narratives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills with an awareness of financial and business implications.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with ZDX, Cloud & Branch Connector, Risk360.
- Understanding of software‑defined networking and security services.
- Knowledge of IAM, identity‑based trust models, and adaptive access controls.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications: CCNP Security, CCNP Cloud, or similar. Zscaler Certified Cloud Security Professional (ZCCSP) or Zscaler ZIA/ZPA certification highly preferred.
