Job Description
**Job Title:** Business Development Manager (Commercial Development) **Role Summary:** Drive growth of the industrial freight transport portfolio for the agency’s European road freight services. Act as primary liaison for customers and prospects, identifying needs, proposing innovative solutions from the Dachser product range, and ensuring seamless service delivery across internal divisions. **Expectations:** - Generate new business within the designated geographic zones (departments 16 and 86). - Expand and retain a profitable client portfolio. - Deliver accurate tenders and pricing proposals. - Maintain high‑quality commercial reporting using company tools. - Collaborate with airline, maritime, and logistics divisions to create integrated offers. - Ensure customer satisfaction through coordinated follow‑up with production, service, and finance teams. **Key Responsibilities:** - Prospect and acquire industrial accounts aligned with strategic growth axes. - Manage the full sales cycle: qualification, proposal, negotiation, and contract closing. - Prepare and submit tender documentation and competitive rate quotations. - Track and report sales activities, pipeline, and performance metrics in CRM/ERP systems. - Share market intelligence and customer requirements with other group divisions to develop bundled solutions. - Monitor service execution and address any operational issues in liaison with internal departments. - Contribute ideas for process improvements and prioritize commercial initiatives. **Required Skills:** - Proven B2B sales expertise, especially in large‑account and field‑sales environments. - Strong knowledge of road freight transport and logistics services. - Excellent written and verbal communication in French and professional‑level English. - Negotiation, proposal writing, and tender management capabilities. - Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CRM/sales tools. - Diplomatic, persuasive, autonomous, organized, and capable of managing priorities. - Team‑player with ability to collaborate across multiple business units and subsidiaries. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum: Bac +2 (DUT, BTS) in Business, Logistics, or related field. - Preferred: Bac +5 (Business School, Master’s in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent). - At least 5 years of hands‑on commercial/field sales experience in the transport or logistics sector. - No specific certifications required; professional English proficiency and strong writing skills are essential.
