Job Title: Workday HCM Payroll Consultant
Role Summary:
Senior consultant responsible for end‑to‑end implementation, configuration, integration, and support of the Workday Payroll module in enterprise environments, with a focus on banking domain payroll logic and compliance.
Expectations:
- Minimum 12 years of progressive payroll or HR technology experience.
- Proven expertise in banking payroll processes and compliance.
- Strong Workday HCM payroll configuration and administration skills.
- Ability to manage complex payroll cycles and iterations on a large scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and deploy Workday Payroll, including earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, retro processing, and off‑cycle payments.
- Oversee weekly, biweekly, and monthly payroll processing; perform reconciliations, audits, and year‑end reporting (W‑2, 1099).
- Integrate Payroll with Time Tracking, Absence Management, Benefits modules, and external vendors (ADP, banking systems, tax providers).
- Troubleshoot calculation, production, and integration issues; coordinate UAT, parallel testing, and post‑go‑live stabilization.
- Design and maintain payroll reports via Workday reporting tools; support reporting for finance, HR, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Manage security roles, data privacy controls, and compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Participate in Workday releases and apply payroll‑related updates.
Required Skills:
- Deep understanding of payroll processing, tax compliance, garnishments, and banking‑specific payroll rules.
- Extensive experience configuring and administering Workday HCM Payroll.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Knowledge of integrations and APIs between Workday and third‑party systems.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
- Workday HCM Payroll certification.
- Additional certifications in payroll or tax compliance (e.g., CPAS, XPEC) are advantageous.
