Job title: Sr Vendor Manager
Role Summary:
Lead the end-to-end management of a global technology vendor ecosystem, driving cost optimization, governance, compliance, and partnership excellence across infrastructure, software, cloud, and emerging technology portfolios.
Expectations:
- Provide strategic vision and operational execution to achieve measurable value and best‑in‑class vendor performance.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders in Technology, Finance, Legal, Risk, and Procurement.
- Ensure vendor relationships align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and continuously improve the technology vendor governance framework.
- Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with strategic vendors to drive innovation, accountability, and performance.
- Define, track, and report on KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle: drafting, review, redlining, execution, and renewal.
- Negotiate commercial terms that are financially sound, compliant, and risk‑aware.
- Partner with Legal and Sourcing to align contracts with corporate and regulatory standards.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and assigned vendors.
- Cross‑functionally align vendor performance with Technology, Security, Finance, and Procurement objectives.
- Act as escalation point for vendor‑related incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
- Conduct vendor risk assessments in partnership with Security and Risk Management.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations (e.g., SOX, GDPR).
- Identify and execute cost‑saving, consolidation, and service optimization opportunities through strategic sourcing initiatives.
Required Skills:
- Proven vendor management, IT procurement, or contract negotiation experience (7+ years).
- Deep understanding of cloud, SaaS, telecom, and infrastructure technologies.
- Demonstrated success managing multi‑million‑dollar vendor portfolios.
- Experience establishing governance frameworks and leading cross‑functional business reviews.
- Strong analytical, written, and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and exercise high emotional intelligence.
- Familiarity with vendor risk management frameworks and financial due diligence.
- Experience with enterprise tools (e.g., Salesforce, Asana, Oracle, SAP) is a plus.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Technology, or related field.
- 7+ years of progressive vendor management or related experience.
